Find out how their respective generations have helped shape feminism today – and their perspectives on where feminism is headed next. Plus, PPNYC’s Political Action Team will provide the run down on what the brand new electeds mean for pro-choice politics. Gloria Feldt is the author of The War on Choice and Behind Every Choice Is a Story, a commentator for the Huffington Post and Women's eNews, and the former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She has been named US Glamour's Woman of the Year and one of Vanity Fair's Top 200 Woman Legends, Leaders and Trailblazers. She blogs on and at Heartfeldt Politics. Lynn Harris is an author, essayist, commentator, mostly-retired comedian, and award-winning journalist. She writes about pop culture, politics, gender, relationships, religion, and disability, sometimes all at once. Her most recent book is the satirical novel Death By Chick Lit, whose prequel, Miss Media, was hailed by New York Magazine as a "sharp, smart satire." Jessica Valenti is the author of Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters and the founder and executive editor of feministing.com. She is also a co-founder of the REAL hot 100, a campaign to highlight the important work of young women across the country. She is a best-selling author and activist whose commentary has appeared in the major news media. She was named "One of America's Top 200 Women Legends, Leaders and Trailblazers by Vanity Fair magazine. Her most recent book, co-authored with Kathleen Turner, is "Send Yourself Roses." She has also written "The War on Choice." |

Since you know I'm into intergenerational femnist dialogue, you wont be surprised when I say I'm very excited to be part of a panel called "Building a Conversation Across Generations of Progressive Women". Along with some super champion bloggers--Joanne Cronrath Bamberger aka PundidMom, Jen Nedeau of Change.org, Emily McKhann of The Motherhood, and Tracy Viselli who blogs at Care2.
The panel description reads:
Progressive women were the key to Barack Obama's victory in 2008, but not all progressive women saw eye to eye on the Democratic campaign. Some felt Hillary Clinton was not treated fairly in the campaign, yet others felt differently. Feelings still run deep over who was the better candidate for progressives. Now that the election’s over, how do progressive women come together to work toward common goals and issues? Women from their 20s to 60s will discuss differences of opinion and talk about how they find common ground moving forward to promote and preserve the progressive agenda.
If you're going to Netroots, and I hope you are, please come to our panel and join in the conversation, no matter what generation you might be.

Is the relative explosion of Mr. Moms proof that things are finally changing or is it just a temporary sign of the dire economic times?
In a world that is finally waking up to women’s sexual fluidity, are men going to be left out in the cold? And, why are some women still attracted to assholes, in reality, if they claim to be so interested in sensitive men, in theory?
When are more men going to care about work/family balance? And what the heck is the role of men in the feminist movement, anyway?
These are just some of the questions that your WomenGirlsLadies team will tackle in this provocative discussion at the Brooklyn Museum right in time for Father’s Day. Representing the perspectives of four unique generations, we’ll wrestle with women’s ever-evolving relationship with the men in their lives—fathers, partners, and sons—and the men out in the world—from Rush Limbaugh to Barack Obama.
